Anyone have time/interest in recording some cover song drum tracks??

I need someone to record some drum tracks to some overplayed rock covers so my "band" can play them on an ipod through our PA and practice along with them. Green Day, Weezer, Tom Petty, etc. Anyone bored and want to program (or record) some MP3 files? Just need around 10 to start, but will need more and some originals in the future. Can pay for your time. Thanks, Jack King -- Tampa.

or....

does anyone know any website where I could download some drum tracks? I know it's a little karaoke-esque, but I need some tracks to play along with. Thanks for any leads. JK

You could just create some drum loops for that stuff...
This stuff you mentioned seems fairly straightforward....drumming wise.

I'm sure it's easy for someone who has a drum machine or drum module, but we are clueless... and just looking for a quick fix. we really want to find a person who will program the drum tracks on their home system, mix it down, and ftp the mp3 files that we can play along with...

What songs are you after? I might be able to do a few this week if I get time (can't promise anything). Then I suggest you go down to your local music store with a flyer saying 'drummer wanted' :)

BTW dont really care about the money, they might not be good enough for you to use anyway ;)

For real... I'm thinking if ya got down there..There's a "drummer seeking work" flyer too....

P.S. If dude can't (aka doesn't have time) do it (up there).. Post here and I'll try my hand at this...

song list

Here's what we're starting with. Even if you can only put down something rough for us to rehearse along with that would be greatly appreciated.

Third Eye Blind -- Semi Charmed Life
Green Day -- Blvd of Broken Dreams
Lenny Kravitz -- Fly Away
Weezer -- Island In The Sun
Tom Petty -- Mary Jane's Last Dance
Fountains of Wayne -- Stacy's Mom
Chili Peppers -- Other Side
GNR -- Sweet Child of Mine

Please include a "count off" click at the front so we have a cue to come in with. Even if you can just do one or two we'd sure be grateful.

Thanks in advance to both of you for your offer to give it a shot.

Jack

I just realized that I don't have any of that material... lol... Uhh... I'm not one for mp3'ing these days either.. Sorry, man... all apologies!!! :o

In your situation, I would download Guitar Pro, which is a midi player that reads a proprietary format that also displays sheet music. The program costs $50 (free demo to try). The songs are available on mysongbook.com (which also has links for the d/l), there are tens of thousands of them. You can turn down/ off the instruments you don't need, tune to a different key, change instruments, whatever. Extremely intuitive.

Down side: the sounds are pretty cheesetacular. If you have a decent drum machine, I believe you could set the program to play MIDI, and use that to trigger your drum machine, which you could then record.

you could download the free version of Anvil and use your computer's synth.

thanks for the tip on guitar pro. I will check it out. HJ
