Record More Than Once In A Single Track?

Hi there

I've been using Acid Pro for quite a while now ( I have Pro 4.0). I use it mainly as a multi-track recorder for my band, so there are tracks for vocals, guitars drums etc.

I should have asked this question a long time ago, but here goes...when you click on record, you get all your recording options up and stuff, click on 'start' and it begins recording, but always as a new track. Is there anyway you can add to a track thats already there. I've seen that this can be done in other programs like Cubase, and it would save me from having to have far more tracks than I need.

Hope you understand what I mean, and any help would be great.

Thanks

No, you can't add to a track that has been previously recorded, because Acid Pro 4.0 isn't a true multi-track recorder.

You could still do a quasi-punch in.

You can record a track.

The sections of the track that you don't like, you can cut out.

Re-record the track with the loop function ON.

Once you have completed your recordings, you can piece together the parts that you like.

Then, RENDER To New Track (Ctrl-M).

Voila.

Peace...

Thanks for the tips.

But by the sounds of it I'm using the wrong program for what I want i.e. multi-tracking.

Could you recommend one? Preferably one's that fairly simple to use.

Thanks

I use Acid Pro 4 for sequencing and basic arrangement.

I use Sound Forge 7 for editing.

I use Sonar 3 Producer Edition for multitracking and mixdowns.

;)
