Record Audio CD Song take out guitar

I would like to know if Cakewalk or any software will let me record a song off a CD and then allow me to say take out the guitar and vocals. I want good quality accompanyment unlike MIDI files. I play guitar and dont know if this can be done or not.

There are pluggins you can get that will remove vocals most of the time, but I don't think you'll be able to remove much else. I think these work by removing whatever is panned to the center, like vocals. Any sounds that are located elsewhere in the stereo field is left alone. You would need the original multi-track of the song to be able to remove individual instruments from the mix. Good luck.
