Harvey,
While we are on the subject of JBL speakers....... I have a speaker,12in. brand name Zomax. I have been told these are a budget line produced by JBL. Are you able to shed any light on this?

JBL D123 and D216

I recently acquired some D123 and D216 speakers that had been installed in a home in Beverly Hills , could someone give me an idea of their worth. Thanks.

Orange County Speaker Repair, it's all you need to know. Great for horn drivers too. It's almost a place of worship for the street crusiers with the alter being the 30' EV organ speaker they keep as a sort of shrine high on a wall.

Do an eBay search on completed auctions.

I have some fifteen inch E.V SROs i been carrying around for years, I think it is time to throw them away.

Thank you for making great speakers!

Ted Weber is certainly worth a try if he has the kits for the D130F and the D110F.

My first choice would be Orange County Speaker Repair in California. Keep in mind that both these speakers are well over 40 years old, and were never expected to last this long (especially in the hands of musicians).

There are many good repair places in the country, but OCSR would be my first choice. (You can take my personal recommendation for whatever that's worth.)
Harvey, I have 4 D140Fs that are over 40 years old and still sound great, 3 of them have the original cone.
JBL may have never expected them to last this long, but the fact that they have it a tribute to JBLs quality! John

I just got 4 JBL D110F 10" guitar speakers which need reconing. Now, these are seriously cool speakers and JBL doesn't even make instrument speakers anymore so I'm hot to put them in my 1970 Ampeg VT-40.

I called JBL to see what it'd cost to recone them .................

Good lord ......... $700 to recone 4 speakers.

I feel your pain. I had to have the K120 in my Deluxe Reverb redone, and it cost an arm and two legs.

speak up guys... the thread is from '04...

I did just pick up a D123, but haven't had time to really check out. John

If you go over to the Lansing Heritage forum, look up a guy with the nickname "Edgewound". He's in Upland, California, and he's the most dedicated JBL repair guy I've ever met. He's about the only person that I'd trust to properly repair the old JBL's.
