Can anyone recommend me some good soundcards in a relatively good price range ( max problably $ 500)

I know of Soundblaster Audigy and M-Audio cards, what other good card are out there? And of course there have to be asio drivers included and all that stuff.

this has problably been posted thousands of times but I´m a lazy sod :D

This is just to get me started on the search, a few brand names will be greatly apreciated!

Edit: I will be recording with Cubase if that is of any relevance

Aardvark, Echo, Digidesign, RME, the list goes on and on....

Find one that suits your needs and go with it

Here is a comparison of a few.
More to look at.
Oh ..... and even more .
Personally I use a MOTU 828mkII and am very pleased with the quality and ease of use, yet their products may be out of your price range unless you find a deal on eBay .

Tanks for all the suggestions! I´ll be checking them out... :)

for the longest time i wondered why nobody ever mentioned mark of the unicorn gear, the other day i put it together that mark of the unicorn IS MOTU. yes i know, i'm an idiot. :)

So I´ve been reading up on this stuff and IRQ is frequently mentioned, can anyone tell me what this IRQ thing is?

Also I use Yamaha Mg10/2 mixer and a Studio Projects C1 mic but the sound I get with my present soundcard is rather dissapointing, It´s a SoundMAX integrated Digital Audio, can I be certain that getting a new card will improve the sound... ( the sound levels are veru low and I don´t get a satisfying level with out overriding ether mixer or the soundcard/software.)

I´m thinking about M-Audio Delta 44 or the Audiophile...

Kinda desperate :)
