Recommendations?

Hi everyone, was just wondering what program(s) most people are using at the moment. Ive been using sony acid 5 for the last 2 or so years and its worked fine. Ive tried acid 6 and found it not to be as good to my liking as 5 is. But now im currently looking for something a little better, like final mixing wise. I've tried CoolEdit and a few more but have found them not as good as acid 5 sound wise. I'm doing rock kinda punk stuff and are not using like mega track/effects and would really appreciate some recommendations as to what program(s) to tryout and move on to from the acid5 im using now. I was previously a Mackie Tracktion 'trial' user and switched over to Reaper. Since you're into punk rock, I assume you're in the 'keep it simple' boat, just like me. It's worth the $50, easily.
