I'm fairly new to home recording (basic setup with 5" monitors, Fast Track Pro into PC, a few guitars, and a few mics), and want to improve my skills in mixing, editing, and mastering (ie. post-recording process), with a focus on acoustic guitar and vocals. I'm currently using Audacity, but plan to upgrade when I start knowing what I'm doing.

Can anyone recommend some web-sites that have tutorials, with MP3 (or other) samples of pre- and post-processing so I can learn to develop my ear for the technique, subtle differences, and improvements possible?

thanks
Simon

Also... http://ronansrecordingshow.com/ has some good stuff and does videos. Plus he's a good guy. ;)

Alot of it is just read and then read some more and then take some of that knowledge that has sunk in and experiment with the gear you have.

Luck mang...
