My friend is letting me borrow reason 2.5 and his oxygen 8 keyboard. It works great with my computer but I was wondering if I could use that program to program realistic drums by step inputting the rhythms into the seqencer with the keyboard. Any help will be appreciated.

IMHO: No.
For basic beats you can but for anything resembling drum rolls and the sort, my experience it that you need to play with the start/length/velocity/etc knobs and use automation to get something passable and remotely realistic.

If you want to make drum tracks for 100% rock music, forget it alltogether. You'd just need a real drummer for that. For anything more pop-orientated, go for it but be prepared to tweak for hours and use your ears. (YMMV)
