it depends on what controller you get.
if it has knobs and sliders, they will controll stuff.
the controller i have controls damn near everything.
oh, you can play drum patterns with it also, if you dont want to do them manually with the redrum.

well i'm basically asking about the one you linked me to.

i actually own that one (well, the studio does, but i have a key).
ive never used it though. all the specs are on the page.
i doubt it, but i'll look.

-------------------

the pitch bend will control the pitch bend and modulation wheels Reason machines.
the volume control slider will control the master volume of any machine you use in Reason.
the footpedal will give you more playing control. especially with pianos and organs.

but in all honesty. dont worry about what a midi controller can control in Reason, its no hassle to click the mouse to raise/lower volume etc...
the keys are all you need.

yeah i'm not too concerned with controlling EVERYTHING.

but yeah, thank you guys so much. i really appreciate it.

so i just got the midi controller, and can only seem to get it to make one sound.

how do i make the midi controller do different things in reason (drums, bass, whatever)?

what midi controller did you get?

to the left of the sequecer window. (where you see the recorded notes on the bottom of the screen)
youll see a channel for every machine you have loaded. (redrum, nn-xt etc)
to the left of that is a little midi controller icon (its a little midi controller, unless you have 2.5, than i think it a midi input thing).
click on that, and the controller will controll which ever machine is nect to the icon you clicked.
then load a patch, and play.
