I'm fairly new to the whole rewire process and I don't know how to record my Reason Session in Pro Tools. Everything else is fine. It's just when I hit the record button of the midi and the audio tracks assigned to Reason there's nothing on the audio track (in pro tools). Anybody got a clue

Hi, dont quite understand your problem, but I'll try and explain what to do!

1- Set up a MIDI, Aux in and An Audio track
2 - Set the output of the aux in to internal bus 1-2. Then set the iinput of the audio track to internal bus 1-2.
3 - Set the midi instrument on the inserts of the aux in.

Hit record arm on the audio track (having programmed your MIDI). Then hit Record.

Actually, (if you're using PT7 or higher) you create an instrument track and load reason as an insert. Create whatever device you want in reason, then go to the top of your channel strip. Set your input device to (whatever you want to use) and set the output to whatever reason instrument you are wanting to use.

Fortunately, I was having the same problem, and everything I needed was posted in here- by magic

thanks LOL :)

Step by step guide to running midi through reason into pro tools (by the master himself none other then Matt ;))

1. Open 1 new audio track and 1 new midi track in pro tools.
2. Open reason as a plugin in the audio track.
3. Select the tracks you want heard in the plugin menu.
4. Open an instrument in reason and connect it to the rewire mixer on the channels you selected earlier in pro tools.
5. Make sure your midi track has your midi device in and the instrument you are using in reason as output.
6. Record (in pro tools of course) :)
