This is an issue I've been having since I started using Reaper, and no one has ever solved the problem:
One technique I use often is to send a signal through Reinsert to an outboard unit, then take the output of that track and record it to another, with the effect present.
Each time I press 'record', the track I'm recording to is blank.
I have to hit 'stop', go to the beginning of the track, then hit 'record' again, at which time the track records properly.
It used to happen once in a while, but lately it's at about 99%, which causes a lot of wasted time.
I have the options 'monitor track media when recording' & 'record: output (mono)', checked, and also check for latency, but the result is the same.
Any thoughts on what could be causing this?
