I gather, from the number of questions that you've been asking in HR, that you are new to recording.
Like any other human activity (driving a car, playing golf, making furniture), it takes knowledge, experience and skill to make a success of it.
If success doesn't come straight away, you should not blame your tools (the car, the irons or the hammer, or the DAW). It can be a frustrating business, because there is a lot to be learnt, and this doesn't happen instantaneously.
Which track is it that you can't hear? The backing track, or the track you are recording?
You say it's not the interface, but have you checked the mix control on it. I don't know what interface you have, but most allow you to control the respective levels of playback (i.e. already-recorded stuff) and what you are currently recording.
In some other post, you asked about a 'solo' button. Have you got this on? It should be off.
