Reaper + Guitar Direct In

Hey peeps I'm trying to connect my acoustic guitar to record via direct in into reaper via my Tascam - 800, its getting a signal on the interface but it doesn't record into Reaper. I'm very new to this so I'm assuming there's some setting I haven't set-up on reaper? How does one pick which input its recording from?
 
Options -> Preferences -> Device.

There you can select the driver and the device you want to use.

Then create a track and select the input your guitar is connected to. Use the input monitoring function of the interface if possible for the lowest latency. If that's not an option use the input monitoring function in Reaper by pressing the button on the track.
 
There are options for the driver/device where boulder has pointed you to. Make sure you select the correct one for your device. I don't know anything about the Tascam and whether or not it has its own driver - presumably it does, so have a look and see what's there. It shouldn't take you too long to work it out.
