This probably can't be done, but I was wondering just the same.

I mixing using 2 mono EQ's through Reainsert.
Can I do a stereo mix with just one, as the settings are usually the same for both channels.
I tried a quick test, and lost the stereo spread, which means it's not possible.
(Though I was thinking of maybe with a y-cable it could be wrangled to work?)

If both channels are in the same group and the EQ is applied to that group.

The tracks would be effected by the EQ , but sum'd.

If your EQ is Mono it isn't going to magically accept a Stereo signal regardless of using Y-cables or not.

You could probably do one channel at a time, but you would end up with two mono files (which you could re-export to a stereo file).

But what eq is so super special that it can't be done just as well (or better) with a plugin?

Yikes. It seems like putting the cart before the horse to invest in that kind of gear when you're still learning basics.

I had the exact same thought. Why would you spend $4K on a piece of gear without even understanding how to use it?

Perhaps the OP has something like the Klark Teknik EQP or the Warm EQP. I'm 100% certain that he's done extensive comparison of the hardware units vs the better plug-ins. I mean, nobody would be naive enough to just take the word of some internet forum member as to which is better and spend many hundreds of $$$$ without testing them first, would they?.
