REAMPING quick question

Currently DI'ing a load of performances to be reamped with an active DI. I'm recording a track of amp sim concurrently which is getting used for monitoring.

Upon listening to the DI tracks (which i hadn't done after setting everything up and checking it on each song, assuming it'd be ok) I've noticed the occasional loud clicking noise. Seems to be on loud palm mutes mostly, although on the waveform it looks nowhere nearrrr to clipping, and the noise doesn't show itself in the amp sim tracks.

Do you guys think these will cause a problem? Am i gonna have to listen through every second of every DI track? I think i know the answer already

Sometimes...clicks, pops, noises don't appear on the waveform as high peaks/clips....but if you hear them, they are there, so yeah, you're going to have to check/edit that stuff out before you reamp...though, try it, it might sound "normal"...IOW, it might sound the way it would when you play. Some typical playing noises (string/fret clicks or little string "farts" at the end of note tails...etc...can actually work with the overall performance...or, if you want it real clean, then edit that stuff out.

I have a habit of editing the shit out of stuff like that...but on some occasions I'll audition it within the context of the mix, and it can sound more real/natural WITH than without. It's per click/pop/noise thing.

That said...if you were just overloading the DI/pre during tracking ...then you may want to adjust that so it's not all over your tracks.
