Hi! I'm using cw9 with a sblive soundcard. What I want to do is record some midi tracks and jam on my guitar while plaing it back. There's no problems with the sound, I can here the midi tracks and my guitar. What I can't do is apply some effects to my guitar. I know it is better to record the guitar dry and put the effects afterwards. But I want to here the effects before recording the guitar so I can select the appropriate sound for the guitar.

Is there a way to use cw or directx effects in real time?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated

Excuse my bad english. and Thanks

You need Sonar to do this (this is one of the neat new features that has been built into Sonar). CW PA9 does not have this capability (unless, of course, you use outboard FX - in which case the track will be recorded "wet").

As of now, the number of FX that can be used "live" in Sonar is somewhat limited, but it should increase over time. Apparently the particular DirectX effect has to be built from the ground up to be used in this manner. There are about 5-6 of them available in Sonar currently. I imagine the people at Cakewalk will add to these in the future, and third-party suppliers will begin to write them as well.

Thanks a lot, I'll stop searching in the wrong direction.
