Ok, ive been out of the game for a few years...i currently have a Korg D16 with ER-1 and EA-1, a Kurzweil K2vx, tons of guitar and rack equipment...my problem is that i hate all of my gear, the kurzweil is unbearably difficult to sequence and the electribes are fun to play with, but do not give me any format to lay my music down. My Korg D16 is great as a mixer and recording guitar tracks with simple beats, but i want something substantial now. Technology is progressing and i am way too far behind. I was thinking about a Triton workstation to lay my sequences down on and record them onto my D16 and then add vocals, guitar...yada yada yada...but i am torn because i might prefer a software based sequencer like SONAR and instead of the triton, i could buy a smaller synth to use as a "slave" and do all of my sequenceing on the computer. Money is not much of an object, although i dont want to break the bank, but i am itching to get going again...what do you guys think?

Well if the question is what sequencer to go with I would definately recomend software over a keyboard workstation. Once you use a software sequencer you will wonder how you ever lived without them.

I don't have experience with hardware sequencers, but I agree with Tex, I wouldn't trade my Sonar (or any big name sofware sequencer) for any hardware sequencer. The software sequencers of today are unbelieveably powerful.
