fate consists of some guys i played in a band with here in michigan in high school, the singer and one of the guitar players are two of my best friends, the song i wont bleed was recorded by the guitar player(my best friend) mike lumbert on a yamha digi 8 track. the rest was recorded at omni studio in nashville where jewel and faith hill have recorded, the guy who mastered it did a crappy job i think for the money spent,he had never mixed heavy metal before.personally i think the guitars sound to trebly and weak. he did well on the vocals though, and these guys can realy sing live as well as you here there on the site.the lead singer can hit ear shattering notes and thats no joke he can follow mariah carey note for note and he also can sing death metal, he has a very wide vocal range and is possibly one of the best metal vocalist i have heard. thanks for responding chris, by the way me and the wife realy enjoyed your music, and your daughter is very talented,im trying to get my daughter to sing on a few songs, i ordered a sm57 the other day so i could start doing vocals, although i surely dont have your talent for vocals. anyway talk at you later, tim pate

DUDE!!!
A SM-57 for vocals??
Man I used one of those for years and I HATED it. They work great in live situations but as far as recording vocals...not so good!!! They are good for micing amps and stuff.

Coupled with a decent mic pre they can fool you. Granted, a large diaphram condensor can sound glorious, sometimes a lowly 57 can be the just the ticket.
