I prob. should've put this on the other thread, but if you haven't heard the first, you still have access here.

Anyway, I guess in the re-do, I went back to what I'm about, and that's picking. I'm still using the A/E guitar, but I think I got a much better track. Here's the skinny:

A/E direct and mic'ed with vocal 1....track 1,2
A/E direct and mic'ed with vocal 3....track 3,5
vocal 3....track 4

mic is the v67 thru bluetube
A/E direct to 788

ps: did you hear me lite up around 1:37, opps, my bad. and there's a little breathing in the mics in the quiet parts. yikes

Guitars are much better than the first "Round Here". The vocals sound a little too "confined" for lack of a better description. They need more space, or something. Try different subtle room verbs relly low in the mix.

Good song 'tho.

liar liar, pants on fire. what you talking bout. does anyone really know what they're talking bout. thanks friend.

Chibi, yeah, I left off any real effects doing this one. But that's a great idea. I'm not really a good effects recorder yet, but working on it. Thanks.

I kind of liked the vocal sound....reminded me of Pink Floyd's Animals.....they used that close, dry vocal sound a lot on that album.
If you want to try some 'verb......try a small room for this song....and set it to where you just can hear a difference when you switch it on and off.

I like the song a lot...I'll have to dnld it when it's not 3:00 in the morning! :p

Yes-sir-ree....

I like this one better man....
The tone of the guitar is sooooooo much better...warmer...cleaner....super good...
Great pickin' change up too....added heaps to the tune....
very cool Dan..
Great vox treatment ....
(BTW...Animals is one of my all time favorite albums LT. :D )

yup....good stuff man....
Rock on!
Joe

thanks a lot Lt., I've listened to if with different effects on it already, and you're correct, it does sound nice with a touch of verbage.

joro, much better, yes. thanks man. As to the other cut, you have to try stuff. That's why I came over to digi recording. he he he

thanks guys,

Good tune as ususal - you write great songs and play some tasty acoustic.

I agree that it could benefit from a little reverb.

Have you tried listening to the guitar w/o the direct? I hear some direct sound that sounds a little "boxy" especially on the single note runs on the high strings. Not so much the main lead but the little leads throughout the song and the one during the fadeout. You're really know how to play acoustic and it seems your tone would sound better if it was just miked.

You've got to work on your technique with that lighter though! If you remove the child saftey you can get a much warmer sound from it.;)

I liked the first one better too Dan,sorry.:D

I thought the chorused electric was a good match for the acoustic in this song.
Gives it a slightly dark feel that goes with the lyric.

Acoustic sounded better on the second one though, mabey just needs better seperation between the two, hard left and right?

Harmonies sounded better coming in at the "I just get my guitar and play."line, like on the first one I thought.
Just my humble opinion.:)

I really like this song, looking foward to hearing it progress.

south, thanks pal, every time I listen to this tune, with other things on it, and without things on it, it just turns me on more to try even more different things. I keep looking over at my strat when I here the chorus part. huuuuuuuuummmmmmmmm, ok, maybe. But I also got to do this tune with only the Martin, mic'ed, without the A/E. And I wonder what liting a match would have sounded like. he he he he he he

muze, radical. That's why I got the A/E. To try some direct stuff with effects. Fun stuff. The chorus had a third vocal in the second one. Fattened it up a little.

Thanks folks, for the listen. MOre to come.
