rca to computer?

hi there!
i am trying to figure out how to record from a fostex tape 4-track to my computer. any software suggestions? i have an rca to usb and cakewalk sonar which i thought DID this?? am i wrong here? how do i record it? capture it? any help would be really nice.

Plug the stereo line out into the line in of your soundcard using a 1/8" stereo cable.
 
The USB interface should work provided you have RCA OUT on your four track and USB on you computer. Simply plug the RCA out (four track) to RCA IN (USB interface). You will need USB drivers for the interface and they will have to be setup properly. You will also have to configure your software (Sonar). Typically, this involves setting up a mono or stereo track, telling the software what type of input to record (what source), and "record-enabling" the track (usually clicking a button next to the track).
