can anybody tell me where i can get info on RCA preamps?
I picked up a pair and I'm trying to find out more info about them.
THANKS!

I don't have them in front of me but i think the model number is MI-12241.
I'm trying to decide if i should get them racked or not.

Found only one post on Google groups

To summarize:

This is an MI-12241 preamplifier. These modules were used a lot in
the film recording consoles from RCA but they may have shown up in
their PA or even broadcast consoles, and they were used both as mike
preamps and for make-up gain.

Maybe you can contact RCA for more info.

Yeah. Vintage stuff.
The RCA BA71 and the BA32 were some of THE FINEST pre's of the era.
Still much sought after today.
Some people describe them as an American 1272.
Only thing I don't like about them is that the gain isn't adjustable. (or so I'm told)
Nice buttery, tubey flavour though.
Somebody on this board swears by them.... sjoko? or... who's that guy from Israel? I've talked to him at length about the BA series before.

There's a local studio here that has a pair of the BA32's. The guy was nice enough to let me hear them once. I was impressed.

I don't know much about the MI 12241 though, except that they were used in the broadcast industry.
