RC-30P Punch pedal

I purchased an RC-30P punch in/out pedal along with my new Porta 02. There were absolutely no instructions, and I can find none to download on the Tascam site. Can anyone tell me(in detail, please) how to use this thing?

Theres some instructions in the 424 mkIII owners manual, see if you can download that one. They use the same punch pedal.

I believe the machine has to be in PLAY mode first. Hit the pedal while it's playing and you're in RECORD.

The pedal input should be clearly labeled.

I've got the manual, and it doesn't mention it. There are four 1/4" inputs on the 02 - the left and right record inputs, the guitar input they added for the MKII version, and the headphone jack. I think this pedal just won't work with the 02. If someone doesn't tell me different, I'm returning it.

The RC-30P won't work with the Porta02.

You should either return the pedal for a refund, or return the 02, and get a 424mkIII, which is quite a lot more bang for your Portastudio buck, and now on sale at Guitar Center for $329.
