SLuiCe - pretty light response from you.. I'll take it as you didn't care for it, which is O.K. really!
participant - did you see Lt. Bob's comments about the e.q. and the HARSHNESS? I would have expected you or Tom to have picked up on that from the get go..
I was thinking harsh too but I thought it was just me.. I can never judge a good vocal level for myself, but I have no problems picking out flaws in other peoples tunes.. thanks Chad! You better have erased the previous version!
Khompewtur I put a gear list at the bottom of the page.. basically I record on the 788, and burn a cd.. I rip the CD into the computer as a wave and import it into Sonar.. I'll add some Waves effects.. on this one it was just the L1 Ultramximizer.. All that does is raise the overall level of the mix.. If your good with compression you probably wouldn't need it as badly as I do.. Before I use it my overall mixes are usually very low.. I'll send you a p.m. later. thanks!
Doug H - I agree with the 'closed in' comment.. thanks man..
Kramer - thanks Kramer! I know I can do better, but it feels good just doing it..
erichenryus - your one of the harmony guys so I do appreciate the vote of confidence! I wouldn't mind singing for a band if I can make my voice more reliable.. it comes and goes.. it wasn't fully here this day, but it was better than the first version..
The Ghost of FM - I agree.. the vocals do sound too processed.. if someone else posted this I probably would have said the same thing to them.. thanks!
studiovols - I followed along to every time you quoted.. you brought up things I didn't even know I was thinking, but I was!
--- Like when you said "what we might think of as the backup vocal, comes quickly out in front of the initial lead, like someone sticking their ooogleee haid through " that was on the money, as well as the other comments.. I appreciate it and I'll spend extra time on your future posts..
thanks! If I had gone over the song closer I would have spotted what you mentioned..
twist - thanks twist!
chrisharris - point taken about effects..thanks
mshea - that is an offensive comment to the Oz!
thanks.. I've been listening to Sabbath since I was in 4th grade..
mixmkr - hi mix!
Bulls Hit - thanks man.. I don't do it on purpose.. I never even notice until someone points it out.. I guess I've been listening to Sabbath for a long long time..
joro - thanks joro!
I made the poll so people would have an option, and not worry about hurting my feelings.. everyone here is too nice!
Track Rat - thanks Track! Lt. Bob pointed out something about the vocals being harsh and it's exactly what I was thinking.. did you notice it?
boydrj - thanks man.. while all the other kids were listening to the "Grease" soundtrack, I was wearing out my 'paranoid' cassette.
