As much as I fuk up singing...I should do a Yoko cover...that should do ya all in.....:eek::D:D:D
 
Real drums man...it will liven this baby up. :D

And try to get a bit more emotion into the vocal....don't oversing it, but sing it like you played the guitar...more grit. Right now, the vocal is a bit too mellow. Act like a blues singer....:D

think it sounds very good.:cool: Yeah, the midi drums gotta go, but we work with what we have. I think the "whiteness" will go away with a different drum feel. A couple keyboard licks would spice things up. Is this accomp. pattern your Yamaha DJX? Edit: I just read the whole thread and see that it is. I am glad to see that you are trying to incorporate a bit of keyboard playing in your tunes!

Have you folk heard Clapton's Johnson album. It's very restrained and polite - no bleeding as he's too calloused on those finger tips to draw blood. I got it but didn't get into it - then again I have an RJ box set, (sounds funny since there's such a paucity of material), so I could go to the source. How many folk have borrowed &/or bastardised the blues? Led Zep's 1st LP was the most blatant & insane uncredited riff off but it was a SONIC BOOM in terms of musical progression.
I can't pick up a guitar or bass without going straight to 1, 4, 5. In fact I have to make an effort not to base things on yet another variation of 12 or 8 bar.
We all pay hommage and obtain catharsis in different ways.

Great guitar playing. I think you could liven it up by bringing that guitar up a little in the mix. I actually even want it a little dirtier than it is but thats just me. I think a little more dirt on the guitar would give it a looser feel.

I think you should take the other guys up on their offers for accompaniment. You're a good singer too. You could get away with more on this song too so don't be afraid to let it out. Don't let the other guys get you down. I'd love to hear the version with real parts.

Aside from that, I kinda like that snare sound you used. It has a cool pop to it.:)
