Radio-Whack Mics....Stay away from 'em!

Let's put and end to the myth that Radio-Whack mics are useful in recording or live situations!
I have a small arsenal of mics which includes a coupla 57's and 58's Rode NT1 and 2,AKG c1000, a recently purchased and used KSM32 and of course a Radio-Whack 29.00 special.
Radio-Whack mics have a tinny,hollow type sound.The freq response is no where near an even cheaper Nady SP9.
I have done my own un-expert analysis of Radio-Whack mics
in comparison with mics in their price range or featured specs and they all lost hands down! Mind you I'm no mic expert and every once in a while I may post a question awaiting a response from R.E.,but I know 1 thing ,the money spent on 1 of these so-called mics can be used for something a WHOLE lot useful.Buy a homeless person a meal!
Ahhh but wait, Radio-Whack mic's do have 1 useful purpose..............KARAOKE MACHINES!

Thanks Q...I was about to go buy some of those RS mics!! You saved me lunch money this week! (that post count keeps climbing, eh Q?) :)
 
What about microphones from Walmart? Do you know where I can find some reviews? Lots of people say they're great mic's...except for the "elite" guys with super-human hearing.

So, what you're saying is I shouldn't use the wal-mart karoke mic that looks sorta like a 57 with the 1/8" jack? You're talking crazy talk there mister!

The Wal-Mart '58 clones work especially well with Behringer boards - something to do with the exceptional quality of the Behringer pres... ;) ;)

I have a couple of their discontinued 33-3017 condenser mics.. they're actually OK. Terrible SPL handling, but decent response, and they sound alright on guitar and piano when I use two for stereo. I recorded an orchestra with them and they sounded pretty nice. Coulda been better, but it's all amateur. :)

Does anyone else think Radio Whack is really funny? Everytime I read it I laugh...I have a very dry sense of humor...I thought I'd just point out that it's funny.
