'Strange Conception Sunburn' - Nice Keys, all seemed to hold together well, the song didn't grab me as much as some of the others.

'Isnt it a lovely Day' - I liked this a lot more (except the handclaps) Although I liked the song I didn't think the vocal sat as well in the track. I like the dynamics, guitar and organ @ 3.30 works really well

'Never meant to be this way' - good song my impression was that more could be done either to build or offer a bit more contrast in the arrangement, the organ works well near the end but I thought it took some time to get there.

this is as far as I got and these are only first impressions....

Thanks for the feedback.

For whatever reason, the vocals of Lovely Day were hard to nail, I should've done them over I believe...

All over the map I guess. I got everything but a rap tune in there and I'm working on one as we speak.

If my friends are any indications check out Conversations with Brick Walls, Semantics, Lovely Day, Lights Go Down

Hey Lynx,

don't take too much notice of the Pootpie comments here I think they reflect some petulance eminating from an earlier thread. I suggest you check out his musical contributions and then Kramer's, I'll let you make up your own mind about which comments have worth.
Presumably I'll now become a victim of his acerbic wit. I don't know how I'll cope.

I think it's time to pull out the banning tools on that jerk!

Dont worry about becoming the target of his childish games. He's not exactly a scholar when it comes to stringing sentences together. He wants to flame everybody on the board, but his vocabulary only has 3 words so he's pretty limited.:D

I knew that Roland keyboard sound the second it started.. I have an XP-30. I listened to 'Strange Conception Sunburn.' It sounds like you got a little happy with some of the presets, but it was pretty cool overall.. I think the vocals were a little lost at times and sounded dull e.q. wise, but I liked the song for the most part.. Maybe I wouldnt have tried to force soo many preset sounding sounds in there..

Strange conception sunburn-Pretty good tune-Quite a montage of sounds before the vocals start. I like the tone of your vocals. Recording sounds good-sounds like the drums may have overloaded just a bit when they first came in. overall I liked :) . I listened to never meant to be this way last time you posted and I still remember the song-that must say something :)

Thanks Guys. Strange was the first tune I did so I probably did get a little nuts with that one.

I'm pretty aware of poot's comments, been lurking for awhile. It's all good.

checking out Strange Conception Sunshine...ahhh love the BTTF sound clips. Nice crescendo around :54. I'm certainly no Pootpie or anything but this sounds pretty good to me! "noise brings noise"...I like this.
While I really enjoyed the intro, I'm not sure I'd want to wait through it to get to the really well constructed main body of the work after 2 or 3 listens. But that's just a first impression, and could mean nothing. Generally speaking the levels sound good to me. It's interesting how sparse the bass "entrances" are. It's a very nice touch to not have it dominating the flow IMO, if that makes sense. I like this a lot.

Hey Lynx.....
.......cool! I like it alot. The intro might be just a touch long for me too. ......and Sluice is on the money w/ the crescendo..... Big, bold, and powerful. Im not too crazy about that low keyboard run that immediately follows it, ...might be cool to transition right into the verse there somehow.... small stuff though. Cool style, and song :D g

Hi Guys,

Thanks a lot for the feedback, I'll have a couple more up there in the next couple of days.

I think the intro to Strange is a bit long myself now I think about it.

Listened to "Conversations with a Brick Wall" because it had such an interesting title.

Pretty good job. Decent song. You put together a nice atmosphere. Liked the little guitar fill at 2:30. I liked the piano tone and the part. I thought the vocals got covered up just a bit in the mix. I couldn't quite hear all the words some times.

A bass part would be nice on this song.

Also listened to Strange Conception...

I liked keyboard in the intro. I liked the spoken words - nice effect. Again - nice atmosphere.

I hadn't paid any attention to that pootpie guy until this thread. Someone suggested listening to his stuff to see how good he was. I'm glad I wasn't drinking any milk because I was laughing so hard it would have been coming out my nose. Man did that suck. Sounds like a Panasonic cassette recorder. Real bad writing too.
