R20 clock sync

Is there any way to clock sync with the R20? Master or slave, whatever. I've got some outboard synths/drum machine I want to use with it.

Looks like you have to use the old fashioned method of striping one of the audio tracks with timecode and then using a timecode to MIDI convertor (aka synchroniser) to drive the MIDI gear.
