Hey RAMI, I love the bass, but most of all I like the harmonised vocals, really great, I wish I could sing like that, they cut through nicely in the mix!

The drums sound a bit dry and computer-like, did you use an e-drum or are you just a damn tight player? :-D

Really love the mix, probably I would have used a bit more high end and less gain on the guitars. Awesome job.

What mic did you use? How did you eq the vox?

He's just that tight. I hate him. :D Well, OK, not when he wears the schoolgirl thing, but mostly... :D :D

Ahhh, got my fix on another Rami tune. Thanks man!! Never heard this one from the stones before.

Hey, so I noticed the crashes (and hi-hats to some extent) are pretty low in the mix. Never noticed it before, but do you do that with all your mixes? You know I'm not a drummer and I usually have the crashes all out in front and annoying everyone. I think this is one of those times where less is more. Just taking notes!!!

peace,
Hey Chili, thanx for the listen.

I don't deliberately place my overheads either low or high in the mix. I just mix them to hopefully sound right to for that particular tune. I never really noticed if they were down in the mix or not. I guess it's just a matter of preference when mixing.

Hey El-. Thanx a lot for the compliments and suggestions, you may be right about the guitars. The drums are me playing a real drum set.

Come on, I know you love the schoolgirl thing. :D

Kick ass cover choice Rami...echo all the bass comments..I would even kick it up and just a tad o phat to it...it's that good :D...some of your nastiest guitar playing Iv'e heard..dig the solo around 1:50! You have done a great job capturing all the diffrent parts! It's like the Stones on Steriods...is that a little double bass drums riding the song out? If so cool...way to kick Charlies ass!:p Thumbs up and great to hear your jams...inspiring!

Hey Queep. I only remembered you doing a version of this when I saw the related threads to this one.

Thanx a lot for the listen, man. Fun song to do, and pretty easy, parts-wise.

The ride out at the end is not double-bass (I've never played double-bass or even a double-bass pedal). I'm doing faux-double-bass by going off my floor tom and kik.

Cool, fooled me...I dug the energy it brought fer sure!
Yeah, I forgot I tried this one , but it totaly sucked compared to your version:p...

Killer cover RAMI! -- I get really far behind in clinic listening myself -- it's good to have a minute here for it.

I'm with Llarion on the vocals, but really only in the first part of the song, for some reason.

Listening again and playing air drums to it!

Thanx Chef. I'll look into the thin vocal issue, for sure.

Don't hurt yourself air-drumming. :D

Break seems to have done you a load of good, Rami, this is awsome! Those drums send shivers down my spine, they sound so delicious, something only you and Greg seem to achieve. And your voice...WOW! It fits the Stones stuff so good. The mix is crystal clear and a joy to listen to. You da man, bro!:D:D

Thanx a lot for the listen and compliments, Joey. It was a fun, and admittedly very easy song to do, all around.

Uh...wow. This is a great mix. Fantastic clarity. You really get everything placed so that each part has its specific space in the mix. The separation here is uncanny.

The drums sound killer as do the harmony vocals. I would prefer the vocals a little wetter maybe, but as is, it kind of fits the super tight sound of the whole thing. Good job dude. :)

RamiDude! :D

Damn good stuff man! I'm with HeatDude...fantastic clarity. Excellent mix, harmonies, guitar and tone, bass work....holy shit

I tip my beer in your general direction.

Listened to this a week or so ago...searched it out for another listen(wasn't hard because it's still on the first page :p). Cool jams. I can't find anything wrong with it...nice and raw, and has that sixties vibe. Dig the panning/separation. The drums are awesome, and the bass grooves. I actually dig that dirty guitar tone, it fits the song perfectly, doesn't sound too fussed with and polished, IMO.

I'm new here, and some of you guys absolutely kick ass. The more I listen(and read), the more I realize how much I have to learn. You guys set the high water mark, and are an inspiration...if I don't smash my shit out of frustration first.

Thanx a lot guys. I'll be re-mixing this and I'll experiment with wetter vocals and some of the other suggestions offered. Thanx.:cool:
