hey -
I'm trying to free up HD space, and on my CWAF program it has a large number of "missing", with the red icon in the left column. Since I've been deleting a bunch of old worksheets, and done alot of Clean Audio Disc. I was wondering if these were remnants of those and can they be safely deleted?
I mean if its "missing", does that mean its unassociated with =anything=?
The Help program has alot about reuniting lost stuff project files but not exactly what I'm asking ( I think)

thanks

Those "Missing" files is listed because they're no longer exist, so they're not necessary to delete. It's there because the project file exist, but wave files associated into it were missing. When you record the project, it writes those wave files on certain directory. Information about that directory and files expected by the project is saved in the project files (cwp, bun, cwb,....). CWAF retrieves the information from the file and shows you the files on the list. If there's anything you want to delete, it must be the project file. But make sure you make back up before deleting them.

OK Thanks-

so the ideal situation will be, the only projects I want to keep in the top window of CWAF are there,

and in the big window below, there are no red Missing icons, no grey or green icons,

and all that left is everything with a black "referenced" icon?

thanks

Almost... :)

Ideal situation is for you to know that each file associated with project is there, so when you open the project later, it wont give you blank track. If you find some project has 'missing' file, the project won't open properly. There's also orphaned wave files, which lost it's associated project. You probably have deleted the project, but the wave files refferenced were not.
