Quick question on Ribbons and transient resopnse.

Someone mentioned ribbon mic being slower than condsors which surprised me. I assumed that the 'warmth' factor was a freq. response thing. (As I try to grok the speed and 'behavior' thing as a tool..:D

ribbons are indeed slower than condensors. i believe that the middle ground between dynamics and condensors, transient-wise, is often considered the "sweet spot" (hence the advocacy of ribbons on vocs)-i'm not sure as to the technical reasons for this, but i have read it many a time.
