Quick question about the 1010lt

I was just thinking about this. All of the outs on the 1010lt are unbalanced, right? So if I have a run of 15-20 feet or so to getto powered monitors (next purchase) is the unbalanced going to cause a potential problem? Would balanced be better for that long of a run?

Thanks in advance.

Balanced, would be better, but how would you do it?

They're not balanced outs, so you are just stuck with it. 15-20 feet isn't that long, try it out and see if any noise, and don't worry about it if not.

Thanks for the info...I probably should have been more specific. It comes down to...Will I get a 1010lt now? Or will I save a little (actually another couple of months) to get a used 1010 or maybe a C-port dsp2000. The advantage of the 1010lt is I can buy that and still have $150+ left over toward getting monitors (which I desperately need).

I was thinking 15-20 feet could be on the iffy side for the unbalanced, but if it isn't too risky, I might go for it. The run distance is not negotiable if I want to put my puter in the closet so I don't keep recording fan noise :D.

So with the extra info whadaya think? How risky is that long of a run with unbalanced outs?

Thanks again. :)

*edit*

or maybe a omni studio too. :D

I wouldn't say it's risky, all you have on the long run is the monitors, right? Worst case you will have a little bit more hum when you turn your monitors way up without something playing.

Risky would be running your pre-amps through the long un-balanced cables. But then again, if you don't hear the noise, then what noise?

Get the used 1010, I did and I'm happy.:D

Thanks!!! :D

I always keep coming back to the 1010...but my Scottish side keeps trying to chisel for a better deal :D:D.

I appreciate it :D.

If you wanna plunk some $$$ out Guitar Center has the Digi001 for $695...comes with ProTools LE and a bunch of sweet plugins and 2 nice preamps....
