Quick Q: Untouched 703 with NO FABRIC OVER -> still harmful ???

I have most of my 703 covered in fabric

but some are not and are just there....no one will touch them and no air will be blown on them...

is it ok if thats the case...

I mean sure itll go crazy if you rub it...but will it be ok if i just dont cover it at all...

It seems to be doing its job...but as far as health concerns etc

???

There are dissenting opinions on this. Some tests have been run and show that it's not a health hazard. That said, even if you don't touch it, it will still shed some over time. If it were me, I'd cover them.

There are not dissenting opinions. There are the facts, and there are those who chose not to believe them. Last time I checked, the facts state that there is no health hazard other than being an irritant to the skin and possibly to the lungs if inhaled. No mention of cancer!

Agreed. No signs of it causing cancer from the test results. Some people don't believe it because the manufacturers and OSHA still recommend using masks when installing it.

Irritant to the skin and dusty? Yup. I'd still cover them.

This is a good point. I recently bought the entire set of back issues of the old (and now defunct) magazine The Audio Critic. This magazine was years ahead of its time, criticizing mercilessly audio snake oil and the other magazines that promote it. TAC editor, Peter Aczel, makes this point repeatedly: Science states 2+2=4 but many audiophile writers often state 2+2=5. Even though some "moderates" might compromise and believe the truth is 2+2=4.5, the correct answer is still 4. Always.
