Quick mix of an almost finished tune....

This reminds me of earlier Thin Lizzy, Johnny the Fox type of tune. I like the sparseness and tightness of it. Nothing to suggest mix-wise, sounds great over here
Thanx Bull. I love "Johny the Fox".
Very good. Has a Southern /Skynard feeling to it. The only thing that bothered me was the snare. It has like a metal ring or tightness to it and doesn't flow with the rest of the song which has that low drive to it....Other that that rip it up Bro!!! Awesome tune!

Thanx man. I dig what you're saying about the snare.

Yeah... I'm diggin' this. Can't believe I let this one go for so long.

Love the crunchy guitars... The drums seem a tad bit thin. Love the vocals. Love the beat and off-beat rhythms.

Okay... I just heard the "breakdown" in the middle where the drums are totally naked in parts. Dude... Gotta fatten those suckers up. They're super punchy, but they need more body! The toms sound the same... Not sure how to do that, but during the breakdown, my stomach actually tightened listening to it. Kind of like "augh... This could be SO cool!" Don't get me wrong. I liked it, but hearing that, I could hear more of what it could be than what it was. The drum programming could also be hyped up a bit more during that part. I hear a lot of off-beat kick beats going on there, playing with the sparse bass rhythm.

Yeah... I liked it a lot. Going for a second listen now.

Thanx a lot, Poetic. I agree 100% with your comments about the middle break. Like I said a few times in this thread, it needs SOMETHING. I tried a few things, but nothing I liked. But, yes, the middle part needs something for sure.

By the way, there's no drum programming going on. Those are real drums.

No way! That's awesome! My apologies, bro. I didn't even consider them being real, mostly because they are *SPOT* on timing-wise... I don't even play that well. You're not a drummer, are you?

No offense taken, I take it as a compliment.

Yeah, I'm mainly a drummer and try to do all the other stuff, too, on my recordings. But drums is my main thing.

Lol @ drum programming.

I like the naked breakdown part. Don't go cluttering it up. The new mix sounds good.

I was listening to the drums and I was noticing that you mix your kit from the audience's perspective, but then I remembered that you're a lefty, so it it's really from your perspective and that's awesome. I do mine that way too. Drummer's perspective power! :drunk: :D

I listened with just one speaker and now my head keeps falling to one side and if I try to walk my one leg won't move so now I'm walking in circles. Is it supposed to do that?

That's why the tune's called "Gravity". :D
