all you mac owners....

can somebody tell me how to stop my (new) macbook pro from turning off the wireless when I close the lid? I can't find it ANYWHERE (be it in preferences, or google!)

thanks.

You mean like stop it from going to sleep when you shut the lid? Or like not make the wireless de-activate on wake?

The whole machine goes to sleep when you shut the lid UNLESS you've got a second monitor attached OR . . . you make it think you have. If you have an HDMI - VGA cable kicking around you can plug that in and it might not go to sleep - works for me.

Mine doesn't deactivate the wireless on wake - go talk to Applecare. You get 90 days of phone support with the 'book.

Hope that helps!

I believe there is a little app or extension that will allow you to close the lid without it sleeping. Go to versiontracker.com and try a search.
