Does anyone have a quick fix to help stop my amp/guitar from buzzing?

Thanks.

no loose contacts?

Also be sure your guitar pickups don't pick up the buzz. Other electric equipment in the same room, like a computer, TV or refrigerator often interfere and cause buzz. try to move around a little and see the buzz changes at different places.

Also some amps have a natural hum, like my solid state fender.

Not any quick ones. You can try shielding the electronics cavity inside the guitar and make sure everything is grounded well. Humbucking pick ups will go a long way if you can live with the change of tone. If you are recording to computer, get as far from the CRT as possible or even turn it off when making a recording pass (not very practicle but it could help).
I read Stevey Ray Vaughn used to record in a Farrady cage (basicly a big wire cage that is start grounded to the master grounding point).

thanks

My Telecaster was buzzing. I'll give my 335 a try and see if it does the same.

Thanks for the quick responses.

Before you can fix the problem, you've got to find it first.

Unfortunately you don't say how you've set up - guitar directly into amp, guitar into amp via stomp boxes, guitar into rack equipment into mixer and so on.

Let us know and I'm sure it can be fixed quickly

Regards,

John

Do you have single coil pickups in your Telecaster? If so, you might want to consider some humbucking/noiseless pickups for it. Companies that make them include:

Fender
Dimarzio
Joe Barden
Kinman

If your 335 is quiet, and you have single coils in your Tele, there's your answer. If this isn't the problem, we'll go from there.
