I'm helping my girlfriend's band put together a promotional packet, mainly to get shows in and around town, also maybe to send to a few labels. Can anyone recommend a website with tips and particulars on putting together these packets? I have a very general idea of what we need, but specifics would help.
 
You'll want short, concise bios of the band... including gigs performed, attendance, any sort of marketable "hype" you have (news clips, write-ups, etc...)

A demo tape or CD of no more than 3 songs... or even better, a collage of song snippets... (no one will listen to the tape in its entirety so mixed snippets is a good way to go)

1 or 2 profesional band photo shots is a good idea too...

Do a web-search -- you're going to find info for sure........
