Quick Blasts of White nosie/static..

Every step forward there is one step back,

I just downloaded the ASIO drivers for my M-Audio Fast Track USB, and the performance on the whole is was gotten 120% better, however now i notice during playback every once in a while there will be a really quick blast of static or white noise whatever you want to call it?

Its never in the same spot. Doesn't seem to be a pattern to it either, And once every so often during play back it will just stream white noise until i hit stop.

I fix it usually by going into Reapers preferences selecting and applying a different sound device and then swtiching back to my ASIO drivers.

But its never a permanent fix.

I use reaper also but i have never heard this in reaper. I have heard it in demo's (programs). Are you running a demo plug in inside reaper? One more thing, I have had lots of problems with M-audio drivers. I ended up using an older driver for my Delta card. Have you visited the Cockos forum for reaper questions? I'll give this all some thought but other than the demo Idea I am drawing a blank. Be well.
 
No. Its all liscensd software. I hazard to guess it has something to do with the drivers. I downloaded asio4all, and i am going to use that instaed of the maudio asio drivers and how that works out.
 
I couldn't fix it (2 years ago)
It was new, had it for 3 months but never tested it
