First of all this is probably a pretty obvious question. Am I correct to assume that you could only record 2 simultaneous tracks (besides the s/pdif) with it (hence the name Duo.) Like I said probably obvious but I'm not completley sure about it. And they are kind of vague about that at Musicians's Friend.
Secondly, How dependable is USB redording? Is the transfer of info as fast as using a soundcard or is there lag or other problems?
Also, Is there any other company who makes something like the Audiosport Duo, but with all the features of the Delta Omni, for a PC? I'm aware of the Quatro but I'm not a big fan of Macs.

only 1 stereo track at a time... or of course 2 mono tracks.

the thing i do like about it is the XLR inputs.

USB is still very new. remember that in desktop we had to go through a whole lot of slow crap before we got PCI...

well USB (12mbits/sec) IS WAY SLOOOWER THAN PCI but ...

24bit * 48,000/sec = 1,152,000 bits/sec for each mono track

so you'll get 8-10 tracks i figure. of course, this is all my own math, and while i do have a master's degree in computer science i am not a USB expert.

but for me that's fine. all i want to be able to do is take my instrumental mixes to my vocalists' house (from DC to NC) and lay vocal tracks.
