Hello:
I am currently on the road doing some multitrack recording and I am trying to figure out a way to solve this problem:
I have a digital recorder that uses SmartMedia cards (128mb). The cards are now full. I want to backup and recycle these cards for new material BUT I don't have a pc with me (and I would rather not buy tons of SmartMedia cards). So I am in the market for a portable backup device / external drive. I've heard that Minidisc Players (and Ipods) can do this. But I'm not sure if they have the capacity to back-up data directly from a SmartMedia card (via SM card reader to Minidisc player USB in ... I guess) OR for the MD player does data transfer need to be PC mediated ...
Oh yeah ... Not sure if this matters but the data on the SM cards is in MP2 format.
Any input would be appreciated ....
If the MD player cannot do this does anyone know if the IPOD (or similar or other) can?
thanks ....
