Question regarding Normalization

I have a few recordings that are just a little to quiet. If I normalize these, or modify the volume in any other way for that matter, will this degrade the quality of the sound at all?

To a small degree - ANY digital processing introduces a small measure of round-off error that can degrade your signal. Depends how often you apply/re-apply prodcessing.

With Normalizing though, your biggest issue is the fact that your noise floor gets raised right along with the signal, which, depending on the track, may be a big problem...!
