I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!! First off let me state I use a dynamic mic already (cheap one from radio shack $30) and I am wanting to upgrade and I don't know should I buy another dynamic mic like the Shure SM 58 I hear is good (I record rap and R & B vocals) or should I get a condensor mic and also if I get a condensor mic do I have to get a pre amp or is it a need. I've seen some condensor mic's on e bay and I don't know which ones to buy or not or if i should go with a more expensive dynamic mic CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP I DON'T KNOW WHICH WAY TO TURN!!!!!! Thanks for anyone and everyone's help that replies to this

I'd probably recomend going for a sure sm-58. My friend uses one for rap and his vocals sound sweet. I believe most condensors require phantom power, which would mean you need a preamp w/ a phantom power supply, a mixer with phantom power, or batteries if the mic takes them (not many do.) But for rap you can get good results with a dynamic. Just make sure you get a pop filter.

Thank you for your reply I was leaning towards the Shure and yeah I have a Pop Filter wouldn't know what I'd do without it makes your vocals come out clear but thanks for your reply
