A humbucker is a dual coil guitar pickup whose coils are constructed and wired such that any electromagnetic noise picked up from the environment by one coil is picked up by the other in equal volume but with opposite polarity, so that they cancel. One coil is wrapped the opposite direction of the other and the magnetic poles are reversed, so that the movement of the strings is picked up in phase by the two coils, while ambient EM noise is canceled.

I wish I'd thought of it first...

while a humbucker is a guitar pickup, you should go into it a little more than that.

a humbucker is a dual coiled guitar pickup, where each of the coils are set up in such a way that they cancel out noise and interference... i think they're set up with reversed polarities.

a capo is a "clamp" you sit across the strings behind a fret, so that you can play from higher root notes without tuning your guitar right up.

OK, I'm gonna assume you're NOT jerking my chain... ;^)

A capo is a bar that is held across the strings of a guitar (or banjo, or whatever) by a clamp or elastic band that effectively moves the nut (or zero fret) up higher on the neck. If you play a G chord on a guitar with a capo on the third fret, you are playing a Bb chord.
