question for nuendo users..

I just started using nuendo instead of cool edit pro....made the leap to good software

I am really liking it so far, but I have 2 big questions -

1.) I noticed that it is saving all of my scratch audio tracks...like, stuff that I recorded, and then deleted to do over again...

And, I couldn't quite figure out the saving stuff. How would I tell it "Save the stuff that is actually being used in the project - and delete everything else?"

2.) In cool edit one thing I really liked was the level bar at the bottom with the red light that would come on when something clipped. In nuendo - how do I tell when some track is clipping..or has clipped? And how do I meter whether the overall mix is clipping at points or whatever?

1. Go to the audio pool, right click and 'remove unused media' Trash it and then scroll down and empty trash (or select erase it if you want to save a step).

2. There are peak indicators in the form of a little red light above each fader in the mixer view. To monitor overall mix level, make sure you have 'show master' selected in the mixer view, this will show you the 2 track stereo output.

you know one weird thing I noticed...

when watching the levels on the multitrack view - (just the little ones beisde the track name...and record arming and stuff)

is that my aardvark mixer software was definately clipping...

but, the nuendo level was reading barely yellow or something.

I dont think those little meters are that accurate...they are good for a reference of what input is happening at the time though.

the meters in nuendo are on the aadvrk must be a little off... i think i've done that with my 1010.. it showed the signal red under the 1010 mixer but under nuendo its was clear and didn't even go yellow.. it was pure green

yeah....I think I am gonna tend to trust the aardvark on that one..heh
