SIR when I want a dark verb. Sonic Timeworks ReverbX when I want a brighter one, which isn't as often.

GlaceVerb is also a good (free) one, and worth a try. Takes some tweaking with the settings, but you can get a nice clean reverb sound with it.

John - I've heard people downplay Dreamverb but those that like it always say it just takes some tweaking. I'm going to ask UA to reset the demo.

It's probably because the presets suck a little more than presets usually do, and it isn't what a rock recordist would want. But for a room modeler . . . yeah, I need to pick that up too. It looks like UAD #3 is in my future soon, and I haven't even listened to the Neve plugs yet

It'd be worth it - It really isn't "user friendly" but it pays off if you take the time with it.

Eep, all of the classical recordings I've done (so far) have been in nice rooms that don't need extra reverb!

I've been playing around with Dreamverb and have come to really appreciate it. Definitely more sophisticated than Realverb Pro. At the UA sale price of $74.50 it's an excellent bargain.
