Question concerning my computer?

I jus recently bought a Audiophile2496 soundcard and they told me i needed to update my windows xp to a sevice pack 2 so I have a HP Pavilion 750n and i went to update my windows xp to the service pack 2 and as it was updating a notice poped up and said "Setup could not verify the integrity of the file update.inf. make sure the cryptographic service is running on this computer" anyone thats good with computers or anything can you please help me out thanks

I dont think you have to have service pack 2 for XP for the card to work. Have you installed the card and test it?
 
yeah it works but when i called m-audio they told me to install it(service pack2) or i will run into alotta problems in the future
 
haha thanks but i dont even have SP1 lol my computer hasnt bin updated in a while cus i only use it for music no internet or nothing so i never really updated it but im gonna read that thanks preciate it

Thats why you get the error message! you have to install service pack 1 before you install service pack 2........ :eek:

I don't think this is correct. SP2 should be able to stand on it's own since it has all the updates of SP1.
 
We might have to look that up I could be incorrect, Ill check!
 
Thanks alot man preciate it i dunno how to "hit ur scales" lol or i would.. u can let me no how to if u want lol but thanks hopefully this will work
