Question about USB Mic and Apogee Duet2

Hi. I am looking to invest in a MAC and the Apogee Duet2. I currently work with the MXL.009 USB Mic and Soundforge Pro 10. My question is whether the Soundforge Pro 10 software works with Apogee Duet2. Also, would the MXL .009 Mic (which has a built-in preamp), work well with the Apogee Duet2? Could you also advise if a high end USB mic like the MXL .009 (24/96) give enhanced audio recording with an audio interface?

A USB microphone has it's own built in pre-amp and audio interface...it totally bypasses any other interface you have.

Frankly, I'd stick with a decent quality audio interface and buy conventional microphones...far more flexible in the long run.
