When a tube mic has a power supply is the output on the power supply a line level or mic level output?

Mic level - you still have to go from the power supply to a preamp. The power supply is supplying voltage/current to the mic's internal impedance matching/amp circuit, but what comes back from the mic is equivalent to the levels from any solid state condenser mic.

The solid state mics (FET's) use the phantom voltage as their power source, but tubes need higher voltages, hence a separate power supply.

The power supply only powers the mic like phantom power on a preamp powers an FET mic. The mic's output is mic level.

Dammit, crazydoc, do ya have to repeat everything I say?:D

Yes, but I'm telepathic - I repeat it before you say it.:D
