Question About Pre-Amps

1st Lemme Explane My Setup..

I Have My Mic (AKG 3000B) Going > To My Mixer (Berhinger 6 Track Eurotrack) then Main Out To my Sound Card (M-Audio 2496)

And im not to happy with the vocal quality.

I have heard alot about Pre-Amps ive been looking at a M-Audio Audio Buddy ..

My Question is how well will a pre-amp help the quality of my vocals? and if i do get one should i just elimate the mixer.. thanks
 
What exactly don't you like about the vocal quality you're getting???

While you won't compete with Al Schmidt's recordings, with your signal chain, you should be able to at least get an acceptable-sounding track down.

Before spending more money that won't necessarily help you fix the problem, examine your recording technique/room/mic placement - I'll bet that may have more to do with it than the actual gear!
 
Im getting a real dual/dead sound .. I need something to bring them out make them full .. I think a simple delay mite help..
