Question about Phantom power and Firepod

I finally got my Firepod and I'm about to start recording. My question is about the phantom power. The power switch affects channels 1-4 and/or 5-8, so what if I need phantom power on channels 1 and 2 only...can I still use channels 3 and 4 with regular (non-phantom powered) mics.
Another question, is anyone using the Friepod with XP SP2? I heard that SP2 may cause problems with the Firpod. Thanks in advance!

No problem with using phantom with your other mics, I am lost on the computer question.
