Question about older audio (not digital) Clock formats

Best Advice Ever: RTFM
So can any one out there explain what the older clock sync formats were? I'm trying to get my AX-60's arp to sync (only has clock in, no midi clock). The manual is nebulous at best but states that it needs a negative trigger, nothing else about the format of the clicks.

Thanks

What exactly is an "ax-60's arp". Is that actually the name of the thing? Is it a keyboard, sequencer, arpeggiator, other? What brand is it. Roland, Korg, Yamaha, other?

It's perhaps the case that the jack is simply an off/on trigger, not a sync jack. But to know for sure, the brand and exact model name would be helpful.

I remember there was an old code, something like FSK if memory serves me well. Doesn't exist anymore I guess.

Akai AX-60 Synth. Trying to sync the arpeggiator. I was hoping that I could just record the sync signal as audio (I have done this before with roland/SCI gear) but neither my rolands or my Drumtraks syncs it correctly
